What it is
Water is a liar. It shows up on your ceiling three feet from where it actually got in, runs down a rafter, and drips where it feels like it. A real repair starts by finding the entry point, which is usually a cracked tile, a failed flashing, a popped nail, or a spot where the underlayment gave out, and fixing that. We have seen every way an Arizona roof lets water in, and we would rather do the honest fifty dollar flashing fix than sell you a roof you do not need yet.

Most of the time we can fix just the leak, and that is what we recommend when the rest of the roof has life left. We only raise replacement when the underlayment is broadly failed or the roof is out of years, and even then we show you the photos so it is your call, not a scare tactic.
No. A leak that stopped just means it stopped raining. The entry point is still open and the next storm finds it again, and every cycle rots more of the deck and framing you cannot see. A dried stain is the cheapest time to fix a roof, not the time to forget about it.
