Shingle Roofing

Clean lines, straight courses, no shortcuts underneath.

Architectural asphalt shingle installed with the ventilation and flashing that decide whether it lasts, not just nailed down fast.

Shingle Roofing

What it is

Shingle is the fastest, most affordable roof to install, which is exactly why it is the one most often done badly. A shingle roof lives or dies on the parts you never see: a dry, solid deck, ice and water shield in the valleys, step flashing where the roof meets a wall, and the attic ventilation that keeps the desert heat from cooking the shingles from below. We install architectural shingle to the manufacturer's spec so the warranty actually holds, with courses straight enough to sight down.

When you need it

  • A home that came with shingle and you want to stay with it
  • Curling, cupping, or bald shingles losing their granules into the gutters
  • A roof that bakes because the attic never had real ventilation
  • A budget conscious replacement that still needs to be done properly

How we do it

  1. 1

    Free inspection

We check the deck, the ventilation, and where the old roof is failing, and photograph all of it for you.

  2. 2

    Tear off

Old shingles and felt off to the bare deck so we can see and fix what is under them.

  3. 3

    Deck and flashing

Rotten sheathing replaced, ice and water shield in the valleys, new flashing at every wall and pipe.

  4. 4

    Underlayment and shingle

Synthetic underlayment, starter course, and architectural shingle nailed to spec in straight courses.

  5. 5

    Ventilation and cleanup

Ridge or static venting balanced with the intake, then a full magnet sweep of the yard.

Shingle Roofing questions, answered straight

Less than the box promises if the attic is not vented. Heat from below is what ages a desert shingle roof fastest. With proper ventilation a quality architectural shingle commonly runs twenty to twenty five years here. We fix the ventilation as part of the job, which is the single biggest thing that protects your investment.

We do not recommend it and usually will not. A layover hides the rotten deck and bad flashing that are often the real problem, and it voids most shingle warranties. Tearing off costs a little more and is the honest way to a roof that lasts.
